Katriel is a Counsellor and a member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). She is trained in person-centred therapy and has demonstrated experience in psychoeducation, and fundamental somatic experiencing. She has a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling, a Bachelor of Arts in the Humanities, and Certification in Professional Teaching. Having previously worked as a teacher for 1.5 to 6-year-olds and adolescents, this experience strengthened her interest to pursue counselling. It has allowed her to understand how mental health is crucial to the holistic development of children, enabled her to see from the client’s perspective, provide personalised support to foster growth, and work closely with families and the education system.
Katriel is passionate about working with children and young people, giving them the support and safe space to discover what works best for them while honing the skills they can use to reach their goals. She believes that it is important to work closely with families and other allied health professionals to maximise the support and interventions for each child. Katriel also remains active in attending professional development programs where she learns approaches that can be applied to her professional practice.
